GREAF is committed to making contributions to Sustainable Development Goals

GREAF-1

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) refer to 17 global development goals issued by the United Nations, which guide the global development from 2015 to 2030 following the expiration of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs, 2000-2015).

On 25 Sep, 2015, United Nations Sustainable Development Summit held at the UN Headquarters in New York, officially passed 17 sustainable development goals as agreed upon by 193 member states. SDGs are to thoroughly solve social, economic and environmental development problems from 2015 to 2030 with all efforts from each state, enabling the transformation to the path of sustainable development.

End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

We pay employees with remunerations higher than the minimum subsistence allowances as defined by the government, implement social security systems and measures in place for all employees and enable the gender equality in economic resources.

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

We optimize the supply chain and prefer procuring raw materials from lands acquired on the basis of security and equality, and create job opportunities for women and people from ethnic minorities by purchasing agricultural products from poverty alleviation. As the enabler of sustainable grain production, we move towards to govern the production environment, help maintain the ecological system and support the health development of agriculture. We preserve the genetic diversity of wild species and share benefits from genetic resources in the supply chain management in compliance with the International Commodity Agreement.

Ensure health lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

We emphasize empolyees’ health protection to make the occupational health examination rate up to 100%/year and ensure the full coverage of reproductive health services among employees, including family planning and maternity benefits. During the pandemic, we put related epidemic preventions in practice and strengthen controls among employees. Besides that, we provide healthy skin cares to consumers and promote skin health by producing safe and effective ingredients of personal care products.

Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.

We make all the employees well trained for technologies and occupational development. We provide specific occupational skill training for employees to promote decent work. The annual training covers 10 times/person. 

GREAF-6

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

We conform to the gender equality and women account for 52.8% of all employees. We improve the systems and universalize the sexual and reproductive health and reproductive rights in compliance with Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development, Beijing Platform for Action and results of their review meetings.

Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

We minimize pollution to water resources by reducing waste gas, waste water and industrial residue as well as uses and emissions of hazardous chemicals in the process of production. Moreover, we improve the water efficiency and ensure the sustainable uses of water resources. 

GREAF-8

Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.

We significantly promote the procurement of raw materials of renewable resources through supply chain management. In addition, we control the energy consumption and adopt clean energy in the production. 

GREAF-9

Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all.

We raise the economic productivity to a higher level, promote development-oriented policies and implement strategic plans through the diversification, technical upgrading and innovations. We create job opportunities, eliminate gender differences and provide equal salary for equal work. We protect labor rights of employees and provide a safe and reliable working environment. 

GREAF-10

Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

We emphasize the improvement of scientific and technological innovation capacity and facilitate high-quality, reliable and sustainable infrastructures. We enhance scientific studies, improve technological capabilities and increase R&D expenditures to serve strategic goals of industrial diversification and goods values added. 

GREAF-11

Reduce inequality within and among countries

We make the increment of employees’ remunerations higher than the national average level and adopt effective financial and social security systems to achieve a higher equality. 

GREAF-12

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

We tend to procure from undeveloped areas through supply chain management and support positive economics between cities, suburbs and rural areas as well as the communication and development between the society and environment. We build and implement supporting facilities to reduce the risk of disasters and for overall disaster risk management at all levels from 2015 to 2030 according to Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction in the production base. 

GREAF-13

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

We will achieve sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources by supply chain management and production process optimization. We also provide environmental-neutral management for chemicals and all wastes throughout their whole life cycle, and significantly reduce emissions to air, water and soil to minimize their adverse effects on human health and the environment.

GREAF-14

Take urgent actions to combat climate change and its impacts

We agree with and support the goals in the Paris Agreement, and include “green and low carbon” in corporate strategies to make all efforts to combat climate changes.

GREAF-15

Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, sea and marine resources for sustainable development.

We minimize and eliminate the impacts of ocean acidification by innovation and optimization of product structure. We decisively implement international laws as reflected in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and enhance the conservation and sustainable use of the oceans and their resources. 

GREAF-16

Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.

Optimizing the supply chain helps ensure that raw materials acquired comply with local environmental protection policies, laws and regulations related to animal and plant trade, and protect local rare species. With researches and innovations, we adopt the plant tissue culture to reduce the destruction of biodiversity and ensure the sustainable production.

GREAF-17

Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

We optimize the corporate governance system and propose the independent and effective governance structure. We improve the equity and transparency of information disclosure. Moreover, we adopt the equity incentive mechanism and propose the effective and responsible governance mechanism. 

GREAF-18

Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

We serve as the enabler of the sustainable development by promoting international trades, strengthening domestic resource mobilization, and strengthening international technology and innovation cooperation.
